'Heli-Pano' with iOSVR

'Heli-Pano' with iOSVR

Postby Morten » Wed Mar 14, 2012 9:11 am

G'day all,

I wanted to share an old tour to which I have just added a 'heli-pano' and iDevice compatibility (iOSVR). I really think Damir has nailed this iPhone/iPad situation. My clients are so impressed and I think I will be upgrading many of them. It is a fantastic excuse to approach old clients and reconnect with a worthy new feature.

This whole tour can be accredited to my time here in the FFC forum. The orignal design was created by Terry Montague, FFC provided by Trauasti (and the Stig) and of course Damir's great work with iOSVR. Thanks to all you guys and keep up the good work.

This will automatically redirect you to the PC/Mac, iPhone or iPad tour. It looks great on iDevices and has some excellent features. I really love the 'Gyro' feature (requires iPhone 4s or iPad 2).

Welcome any feedback or comments as it is due to go live tomorrow.

Thanks,

Morten

Using my HTC, I am receiving a white screen with a play button in the center of the screen.

The pano started to load, but once it's ready to play, the above happened.

G'day eliecer,

Can you play any tours on your HTC? These are designed for iPhone and iPad. I am guessing there would be very few (if any) mobile devices that can play a full Flash Tour. They require too much memory and processing power. Unless you have an iPhone or iPad the redirect code will keep you on the PC/Mac version of this Tour.

Regards,

Morten

Hi Burosh! I bought the tprime a couple weeks ago and i find out this: flashificate the tour, copy the folder in your tablet, download the opera browser for android, write "sdcard" on the Opera browser and it will allow you to explore the hard drive of the tablet. Go to the folder and open the index.html file. It should show the tour (one of them didn't but I think it was an exception!) Let me know if it works with you.

See you

Hi Morten,

All my tours are coming in 3 versions: mobile ( not Apple ), Tablet and PC. And yes, my HTC can play the mobile version of all of them.

About the memory: It depends of the images size, and how many things you wanna include. My mobile versions are pretty simple, letting the tours keep low memory and less processing power.

G’day again Eliecer,

I understand now. Yes, I could make lower res versions for any mobile device. I think we really do have to prepare for mobile devices and many (most) could be covered by this option. Do you (can you) use a redirect script to cover all mobile OS outside iOS?

More people bought Smartphones and Tablets than PCs and Notebooks for the first time on 2011. The iPhone was the highest penetration Smartphone and iPad the top Tablet. I think our biggest challenge was to find a worthy product for the iOS platform.

My longer term prediction is that the next generation or two of Smartphones and Tablets will cope with both Flash and larger file sizes. I think it may be longer than that before Apple allows Flash on their devices.

I would love to hear any comment on my original reason for this post;

Hi Morten,

I am also exploring the possibilities to use pano2VR to create the i-device versions for my tours, at least, until Trausti includes the HTML5 option inside Flashificator . Everything looks really good so far.

By the way, your tour doesn't show up in my iphone 3G S. The message i am receiving: 'Safari cannot open the page because the server cannot be found'

Great! Good to know! I am glad I could help!
I saw your work, I've been to Praga a couple years ago, I think is one of the best cities I know. My wife and I fall in love with it. When we left, we thought that it had been a dream! Then we saw the pictures and we were sure: it is marvelous!

Hi Morten,

Love your work mate, however the previous poster was right, your redirect code is wrong iPhone 4S also not able to access your link, it says
Safari can't open the page because the server cannot be found

The Flash tour looks awesome though :)

Hello, Morten! I really liked your work! Very well done! I tell you that I saw in my notebook, I have no iphone yet! I would like to ask you some things! I want to do virtual tours air (heli-pano) and I'd like to know if you can tell me what technique you use? What system do you use? Another thing, I liked the photo gallery ... you used only the plugin "flyout Imgs"? I ask because I see a very good quality photos. I tell you this because when I use the plugin, the pictures lose quality in the mode box, not in spot. How did this movement in the pictures?

Sorry for my English!

Thank you!

G'day Vedder,

Thanks for the compliments. I am flat out over the next few days, but will try to put something together regarding aerial shooting. First thing to consider is the cost. It is expensive and you will need a pilot with patience and skill to make things work out for you.

I will look into the settings for the photos. I am not exactly sure if we did anything special. We used the standard 'flyout' images from the plugin section from memory.

Cheers to you Damir! Loving the iOSVR stuff.

Regards,

Morten

P.S. thanks all for the tip re redirect script. I think I have solved this and the iPhone link should now also work;
