UPDATE section

Postby Trausti Hraunfjord » Tue Oct 28, 2008 8:26 pm

I have made a new section here in the forums, invisible to those who have not purchased a copy of FFC, but visible to those of you who have.

Paying clients can enter the section (when logged on) and download the latest update directly, and be automatically informed of new updates when they are released.

This way, things are much easier for me personally... to manage, and it should also be easier for people not having to visit the forums here and then go to the google groups for the updates.

Those of you who have already purchased FFC, are hereby urged to send me a PM (Private Message) containing your purchase order number and with which email you ordered, and with that information I can grant you access to the update section (normally within 24 hours.

Is the section here or do I miss something new?

It could be interesting to see the number of the current version :)

Thanks Trausti & co

The section is here, but you need to send me the purchase order number and email you used for ordering, with a PM (Private Message) here in the forums, and I will update your account for accessing the Update section. In your case it's a mere formality, but still.... I need to keep things safe and sound.

The latest version is 2.02 .... the programmer ran into some problems with the tooltips implementation... throwing errors when the new tooltips fade out on timer... and that has to be fixed before release... plus a few other issues that have come to light. You can expect an update during the weekend.

I still don't see an extra section when logged in - am I missing something?

Thanks

Hi Bruce.

It's the same as it was with Fred. You need to send me a PM with the purchase order number and from which email you did your purchase. As soon as I have that info, I will apply permissions to your account to access the Updates section.

Current latest version is 2.03

Version 2.05 is available for download in the Update section.

Tooltips are almost complete, only missing the timer on fade out.
Flash detection script is now in the html page.
SWFObject version 2.1 has replaced version 1.5 we used before. If anyone knows of bugs or other problems using the latest version, please let me know.

If you haven't gotten access to the Update section, you can get there by sending me a PM with your purchase order number and which mail you used when purchasing, and I will upgrade your account to be able to enter the Update section.

It is NOT enough to only ask for access. You HAVE to provide the purchase order number and inform of which email you used when making the order.

Is that the latest version with AIR 1.5, or the previous one?

I just tried with the FPP example bathroom mov file, and it displays without any problems at all.

What is your OS?

I am using the new Air version. Mac OSX.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, with the same result, and with several different panos.

Interestingly,in this version only pano.swf is missing. Everything else is in place on start up. I have installed the pano.swf of course. Still no pano appears in the window.

That was an error on my side (everthing in place except pano.swf). How it could happen I don't know.

Please download the latest version and try it out. It has been tested on our end in XP, PPC and Intel Mac... No problems with it here.

Version 2.011 is available now.

What's new, is the "Preview" function known from FPP.

You can add your own preview image, change out the orange "Open" button to one of your own design. ONLY .jpg images are supported.

Please be aware that you may have to change the Flash permissions (include the drive/folder on which the Flashificated preview is located on) to be able to view it.
To change the permissions, you need to open a panorama (or any other Flash content), right click inside the Flash content, select "Settings" ... which will bring you to Adobe's website, and there you can change the security settings for your computer.

You can pre-make an image in the dimensions you want with your photo editor (ONLY .jpg images are supported). You can also use a big original and resize it in real-time with the resizing tool on the Preview tab. The image will be stretched/shrunk when you resize it.

In previous versions, the FLV video would be projected onto the panorama in "Cylinder" projection. Now the default is "Spherical". You can change these settings in the "Hotspots tab if you want to.

The same correction to "Sphereical" projection has been applied to the simple "Play/Stop" buttons for FLV files.

Some other changes have been made, but nothing significant.

Later today (December 6th) version 2.012 will be released.

Here is a screen shot of what's new:
Loadmeters-etc.png
Loadmeters-etc.png (7.12 KiB) Viewed 9615 times

Earlier versions only had the "Normal","Circular" and "Glass" load meters.

Now there is the info glass meter, the choosing of the background colour when the pano loads, text colour for the loader, streamed mode, etc.
Later on I will have the programmer to make a customizable loadmeter, where you can change the graphics and place it where you want.

... little by little it comes together.

Version 2.012 is finally released, delayed due to additional functionality added to the previously announced release.

Apart from the above, you can now make simple tours... Tourificator is still on ice due to no solution to the loadPano command to work within the AIR application.

Therefore I suggested to have the poor-mans version of Tourificator made... and fittingly it is called Poorificator. (Yes, that's right... I don't take myself too seriously at all times).

Another new thing in the latest version is a preloader. The preloader will load images (or mov's) from tours as you desire it to do. Without the real Tourificator, it is limited how useful it is, but if you use Poorificator, you can feed the preloader with the url to the images in the pano you linked to in the first pano, and when the user clicks the hotspot for the next pano, it will either have downloaded (depending on people's internet connection speed and the time they spent on the first pano). The preloader can handle hundreds of panos, and preload them the way you may desire.

Version 2.016 is available now. No new and significant additions though... only bug fixes, and ironically a bug was made in the process, but it's been fixed now.

6 users downloaded the first 2.016 version WITH the bug, and I recommend those 6 users to download the fixed version (the six users downloaded BEFORE 7:00 PM EST... or BEFORE 1:00 AM GMT).

A new tourificator video tutorial showing how to link and unlink hotspots in panos is about to be made, and will be uploaded in a couple of hours if I don't run into unforeseen problems with it.

Seemingly it is not possible to make subscription work in the Update section, due to it being a "hidden" section (only access for paying customers).

Therefore I make this thread in which you can not post, but you can subscribe to it, and every time a new version is out, I will post a short message here, and you should get a notification by email if you subscribe to this thread.

Hopefully this will make things easier for everyone.

Version 2.023 is available now.

Things should be working correctly this time around. Version 2.3 of FPP is still not compatible (works on Mac's).

Please, if you encounter some problems, please report back with as good a description of the problem as possible, so that we can recreate the error.

Version 2.024 is out.

What's new, is the Path maker (a part of the Mapper). With it you can draw paths between hotspots.

Version 2.025 is out.

Fly up images is ready and working.

Things to keep in mind: First make a hotspot, select the image(s) you want to use, place the image(s) with the controls in "Hotspots" tab. Go to "Plugins" then "Place an Image".
Set the time for the image to go down (time is shown in milliseconds).
Select the type of transition you want.
Set the time for the image to go up.
Select the type of transition you want.
Adjust the scale for the image. If you have an image you have scaled down to 100x100 pixels or there about, but want it to be bigger, you increase the number in the Scale numeric stepper.

Finally Create Functions and click "Reload" on the preview window.

If you need to make some changes to the way the image (time or transition or scale) you need to click "Create Functions" again to overwrite the older functions, then "Reload" on the preview window.

That's all there is to it.

Version 2.026 is out.

Radar sweeper in Mapper can be set to different initial positions.
Maps can be made visible/invisible with a hotspot.
If you have assigned a hotspot to load a new pano, the mapper will auto update the correct point.

Enjoy!

Version 2.032 is now available:

Earlier, when you would Flashificate, you would not be able to do any more editing of your project. With this and future releases, you can Flashificate at any point in time to check out how things look and feel in your browser, and still be able to do more editing.

If you name your project "MyProject" and you save it to the default (or a specific) location on your computer, the first Flashificated project will be named "MyProject", the second time you Flashificate, the projetct will be named "MyProject(1)", and you will still have the first project intact. The third time you Flashificate, the project will be named "MyProject(2)" etc. No overwriting will take place, only a new folder with the latest changes will be made. When you are finished and want to make a new project, you just cancel the project with the red double arrow button next to the "Flashificate" button, and you can start a new project.

Version 2.035 is now available:

A couple of bugs have been fixed: If you would tick the "Use project name for html File" tickbox, it would mess up the whole project when Flashificated.
Radar sweeper would not start on the correct spot when the pano loaded the first time.

Both of these bugs had roots in the code changes when the Flashification process was changed in version 2.032

Version 2.036 is now available.

A couple of bugs have been fixed: If you would set different initial pan and tilt values for various panos in a tourificator project, things would appear to be ok when working with the project within FFC, but once Flashificated, all the panos in the project would have the same values as the first pano. Not good! Now it is working.
The other bug was that the alignment component for FLV videos did not work.

Both of these bugs had roots in the code changes when the Flashification process was changed in version 2.032.... so the problems from the major changes made back then are still popping up.

Version 2.040 is out, and hopefully it means the end of the problems we have had with dashboard and general failures. Mapper has also been improved, taking into account some manual coding "errors"... which would result in errors if not written exactly like FFC would output the xml code.

Please do update your version to the latest one.

Version 2.042 is out.

Version 2.042
May. 29th 2009

FFC version number has been added in the xml and html output files, which will make bug fixes simpler on this end.
qualityStatic and qualityMotion had a glitch, written out as qualityStatic2 and qualityMotion2 (which is the way needed for versions 2.3 and 2.3.1 of FPP's pano.swf This error probably dates back to when the programmers were working on a release compatible with the latest versions of FPP... but that was a failure as we all know.

Added opacity transition on Place an Image... now a transparent png image can be placed, replaced with a visible image that increases in opacity as it flies out to the monitor, and upon click, the visible image will return to original placement and fade out. This was done due to recent reports of failures where that functionality was needed.

The ability to select a specific point of another map in the Mapper has been added - also a response to a request for that to be possible.

Version 2.043 is out.

Version 2.043
May. 31st 2009

This version enables the users to add glow with colour of choice to one or more map spots.
Active image can be changed for a different one, with or without a glow and/or with or without a radar.
Should you want to add a different kind of points than the yellow default one, you browse for a new image, and that image will be the new default until you browse for a new one.
You will only need to give your first point a "Description" then click "Add Another" and for the next one you make a description, "Add" etc. etc... If you do that 10 times, click "Reload" on the left top of the preview window, you would have 10 points on top of each other in the preview window. Then you would click and drag them to their respective places on the map you were making. This latest change was made for obvious time saving reasons.

Hopefully this latest change will be of help for you and others.

What used to be called "Radar" in the list of radio buttons in the Mapper plugin tab, is now called "Selected Point" ... and it also includes the radar controls.

A bug in the path maker was also fixed.

There is an error present in this BETA version, but it will be fixed in the coming hours. Fix for the error is described here: viewtopic.php?p=2526#p2526

SAVE function built into the application along with some other fixes and added functionalities. Initial pano can be changed (do that in Tourificator), thereby enabling creation of template projects.

All known bugs from the initial release of version 2.044 BETA have been eliminated... and then some.

Version 2.046 is out:

loadPano bug fixed. The bug caused "Loading failed" in tours in the latest version. Projects that have been saved WITH the loading failed message, will still not work as intended.
Mapper visible hotspots url fixed. Creating a set of buttons for viewing/hiding the map, then deleting the hotspot images for "visible" and "invisible", would not work as intended. Only by deleting the url in the xml file, would get rid of the extra buttons.

Panos can be replaced and deleted. Initial pano can be replaced, other panos can be replaced as well, in Tourificator. This enables creation of small templates, where the visible images (cube faces) are replaced with 1x1 pixel images.

Projects can be Flashificated, where FPP version 2.3.1 of pano.swf is used. To do that, you need to do the following:
1. Rename pano.swf version 2.3.1 to: "pano2.3.1.swf". (If you don't have version 2.3.1 of pano.swf already, you need to visit the FPP google groups, and download it from the Files section.
2. Copy and paste the above renamed file to the Flashificator installation folder.
3. In "Plugins" folder (for now) you will find a FPP 2.3.1 button that will open the toolbox, where you can enable Flashification in Flash 10 compatible mode (with the latest version of pano.swf).
I want the option for F10 (v.2.3.1) to be moved to the "Flashificate" button... where it is more natural to have it, so expect that to happen shortly.

Functions tab bug fixed. In version 2.045, you could not access the functions created, by selecting the hotspot containing the functions you wanted to access/edit, and go to functions. That is fixed now.

Flvplayer's "cache as bitmap" is off by default. This results in videos NOT starting with sound only... and video later. But both at once.

Autorotator is now Flash 10 compatible. This is the version enhanced by Myriam (Nidrig in the FPP forums) from http://www.36one.net. I just noticed that credits to Myriam have NOT been applied in the interface, but that will be corrected next time the programmer returns for work.

Please report bugs and errors if you encounter any of those, with as good a description of your work flow leading up to the incident.

Version 2.047 is out

There was a bug in the last version (probably the last couple) that would result in disabling the dashboard if one would rename a hotspot (unrelated to the dashboard). That's been fixed.
Borders bug has been fixed. Would not turn borders completely off, if borders were disabled.
Borders arrows will only be visible while the Borders tab is open.
Smartscale has been enabled in the Plugins section, and can be used for all hotspots. Smartscale in the Dashboard ONLY applies smartscale changes to the dashboard buttons.
Plugins toolbox has been re-organized, and displays the plugins/presets that will be implemented in the very near future (greyed out) and the currently available ones. Only plugin that is not on the list in this version, is AutoTour... but it's been put on there for the next update.

Please report bugs and errors if you encounter any of those, with as good a description of your work flow leading up to the incident, and eventuallly (best) send us a project file (.ffc save file) which will make the process of finding and eliminating the error(s) much easier.

Version 2.048 is out.

.... and there was a leftover test for concept in version 2.047. Trying to use Loadmeters, would result in FFC taking a snapshot (image) of the preview window (and space beyond it in blue) that would cover the toolbox area, making it impossible to operate the program. This is a project that will be continued and implemented in the near future, enabling people to take snapshots from within panos, and send the images to friends/family or upload to the website hosting the pano... the concept works, and as such it's good. My apologies for the disturbance this may have caused you.

At least now you know that more is being done than what has been announced publicly.

Version 2.049 is out.

Sticky tooltips. Should be fixed now, but not known for sure, since we have been unable to reproduce the stickyness. Please report if you get sticky tooltips.

Alignment component for S-Align did not work with recording. Fixed

When creating a loadPano, selection would go to the first selected pano in the list. That's been fixed.

Creating a loadPano, the name of the function automatically copies the the name of the pano, making it much easier to keep control of what function does what.

Camera control has been implemented in the interface. The camera is found within the" Video Player" toolbox. "Select Player To Use" and there you can either select the Camera or the FLV Video Player.
Your webcamera (or other attached camera equipment) can be used to display it's view in a video inside the panorama, as it does in Denis' example here: http://flashpanoramas.com/blog/2007/05/ ... panoramas/ (search in the text below the pano for "Some more fun with video: if you have a web camera, click here to change the video source to your camera output."
A button can be assigned for starting and stopping the camera feed. Multiple camera screens can be running at the same time inside the panorama.
Use the same alignment tools to fit the camera video, as you would use for any other video.

Limits have been implemented. Use the limits like you would use borders. Keep in mind, that when you set the limits, it is NOT being set according to the edges of the screen, but from the CENTER point of the screen. So you might want to zoom in on the area you want to block off from view, and set the limit. Limits apply in real time, no need to click "Reload". If you set a limit to the left, you also need to set a limit to the right, to get it working. The up and down limits can be set independently of each other.

Version 2.051 is out

Same as version 2.049 & 2.050, but without an error that would (in some cases) result in failure when making projects with videos. A save project file sent by one user who constantly got the problem, and the file enabled the programmer to locate the error and fix it.

Version 2.052 is out

"Nadir Cap" has been implemented.
Operation: Click: Plugins>Nadir Cap>Create Nadir Cap>Browse Image (select image to use as nadircap) and you everything is in place.
Used to cover up the tripod hole with a company logo, copyright info or some such.
Options are for a "Glued" cap, and a "Free" cap. (Free is not listed, but it will be Free, unless one ticks the "Glued" tickbox).

Glued means that the nadir cap image will appear like a part of the bottom image, while the (default) Free cap will always face the viewer in the same position.
Images can be reduced and increased in size with a "Distance" slider tool.
Max increment of size is double the size of the original, and minimal size is zero....so small that it's invisible.

Anything else people might want to do with the nadir caps, can be done in Filters, Hotspots and Functions tabs, as one would do with other hotspots.

A confirmation of closing the application has been implemented. It should prevent accidental closing and loss of work. The confirmation screen ONLY works when one clicks on the red Close button in the toolbox, and NOT wehn you close the application from the taskbar of the operating system.

Postby Trausti Hraunfjord » Sun Aug 02, 2009 9:04 pm

Version 2.053 is out

This version includes clocks as the main new addition, various backgrounds, faces, alpha faces (only numbers visible) and a few sets of hands are included.

The folder with these clock components will be placed in "C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\My Documents\Flashificator Resources" (on PC's)
and "/Users/YourUserName/Documents" (on Macs)
... alongside with the Dashboards folder, that has been moved OUT of the Flashificator installation folder. This has been done in order to enable easier access to accessing these files by Mac users.

The clock components are pretty simple and basic, and you can (and probably will) make your own.

There will be made some improvements/additions to the clocks later on... such as when going for the digital clock, the preview window should auto-reload, equally when going away from digital to analog, and different time-zone clocks should also be available... for instance if you have a pano from some office that displays New York, Paris, Hong Kong and Reykjavik times on different clocks, one should be able to make the same time zone clocks, without having to change the angle of the hands to match the difference.

Autorotator now has the autoleveling feature enabled, and a big thank you goes out to Duncan from http://redshift-blueshift.com

With Tooltips, you can now break up lines by clicking on "New Line" button, which will insert \n into the tooltips text (this works as a line breaker).

When deleting camera, after single button has been associated with it, the buttons will be removed from the hotspot drawer (it didn't do that earlier).

Version 2.055 is out

Clock hands would go off their positions on reload in previous version. Fixed.

2 more types of cube face suffixes are now supported:

1. _f.jpg _r.jpg _b.jpg _l.jpg _u.jpg _d.jpg
2. _0.jpg _1.jpg _2.jpg _3.jpg _4.jpg _5.jpg
3. _1.jpg _2.jpg _3.jpg _4.jpg _5.jpg _6.jpg

4. _11.jpg _22.jpg _33.jpg _44.jpg _55.jpg _66.jpg
5. _bk.jpg _dn.jpg _ft.jpg _lf.jpg _rt.jpg _up.jpg
6 .back.jpg .bottom.jpg .front.jpg .left.jpg .right.jpg .top.jpg

The 3 first are standard for FPP, the other 3, when fed into Flashificator, will be automatically converted to the
_f.jpg _r.jpg _b.jpg _l.jpg _u.jpg _d.jpg suffix system.

If we are informed of more (or less) common suffixes, it would be a natural thing for us to provide support for those as well.

Low resolution gray scale projection during loading of the main pano has been enabled. The gray sclae enabling/disabling is found in Tourificator. Default setting is that it is enabled. To disable it, untick the tickbox.
The program will make low resolution grey scale images of 300x300 pixels (for cube faces), and it will also work for equirectangular images and stripes... but that has not been worked into it yet... trying to apply it to equis will result in black screen (I just discovered that now). Expect the gray scale pre-images for equis and stripes to be implemented in the next update.

0-1-2-3 decimal adjustments for numeric steppers will hopefully also be ready for next version. It has been built into the interface, but many of the numeric steppers can only work without decimals, and for instance the "Ratio" needs to have it's 4 decimals... so a lot of conditions have to be set before it can be activated. The component is placed (hidden now)to the left of the program's red "close application" button. Clicking a numeric stepper that is showing a number without decimals, then clicking the "accelerator" (or what it should be called) will add one decimal with one click, 2 with 2 clicks, 3 with 3 clicks... and that in return will enable you to put hotspots/images accurately into place.

A lot of old and half old bugs have been eliminated.

Tommy Wirestam's PicMenu has been partially implemented, for "Simple" operation only, where you have a very limited set of tools to do with. Later on the programmer will implement all the controls for it, where you can modify every aspect of it at will.

As it works now:

1. Start a new project
2. Click "Plugins" tab
3. Go to "Tourificator"
4. Drag and drop all the panoramas you intend to have in the project into the left list
5. Click "Plugins" tab
6. Go to "PicMenu"
7. Click "Enable PicMenu"
8. Click "Reload" on the preview window
Depending on your computer, point #8 may take quite some time. Reason being that the program is making a copy of one of the cube faces, reducing it in size (down to 120x60 to fit the PicMenu PRESET size, and also converting a set of the panorama cubes to low res 300x300 pixel cube faces to be used as pre-images in the tour (appears before the pano appears).
Everything is linked now, and you can publish your tour... unless you need additional graphics, videos, mp3's etc). If you want to set special effects between panoramas, you need to do that BEFORE you enable PicMenu, and you'd do that in Tourificator, along with setting the initial opening view for individual panos.
Obviously there is some more fine tuning to be done with the PicMenu, but this enables a very quick tour production already.

If you want to replace the images automatically made for the PicMenu, all you have to do, is double click the image in question and browse for a new one.

Version 2.057 is out.

Lots of bugs and errors have been located and killed off. More are probably going to be found.

Tommy Wirestam's PicMenu has been fully implemented, but some improvements will be added to it before next release again..

SA Projector is found in the Plugins section. This is a Stand Alone Projector that creates a standalone panorama projector for both PC's and Macs. It is a SINGLE CLICK operation to make it create fully functional projectors. Click the "SA Projector" button in the Plugins section, and the project you are working on will be projector-ized in "../My Documents/My Projectors" folder on your computer.

Note: Default settings for Segments and Frame Rate in "Visuals" have been increased to 30, which is more fitting for a good display in today's world, than what was 2 years ago.
Dashboard has been improved from what was earlier: When Dashboard tick box "Enable Dashboard" is ticked, it will automatically reload and therefore update the display. Equally, when you change dashboard buttons, it will auto reload, and replace all the dashboard buttons from the earlier choice with the new ones. A related issue with NOT infoscreen not updating with the new one, has been fixed with this.

hotspots2.3b2.swf has been tested and found to pose no problems, and will be the recommended hotspots plugin to use with FFC, since it is superior to the original one shipping with the FPP package. I will make a Flashificator specific package and upload it to the FPP Google Groups, where you can download it from and drop the contents into the Flashificator installation folder. The package will include the essential FPP files.

Before having created a hotspot, it was not possible to close the program if one was not in Visuals tab (or Plugins tab) since the gray-out image was covering the “YES“ and “NO“ options for closing. Now fixed.

Poorificator fu***d up when there were spaces in the function name. Fixed.

Autorotator will NOT start automatically when Dashboard is created. You need to activate the Autorotator by going to Plugins>Autorotator>UN-TICK "Default settings" then UN-TICK "Disabled".
Autoleveling is now a default setting for the autorotator when autorotator is activated.

PicMenu: Centering of the the left thumbnail image in it‘s frame was needed, since it would otherwise go out of it's frame. Change was applied to the source file of the plugin.

Smartscale was not working as it should. Disabling smartscale for dashboard would disable smartscale for other hotspots as well. Seemingly it worked, but it only did in FFC, and not in flashificated projects. Fixed.

Added info in Tourificator interface:“ Double click a pano in the left list to replace it with a new pano“, useful when using an old project as a template for a new project.

Thumbnail issue in the picMenu was addressed... Thumbs are now resized properly, according to the set thumbnail size.

Using .mov files in Tourificator along with PicMenu resulted in a constant “loading failed“ on all panos. Fixed.

Quotation marks in tooltips would crash the application. When “ “ were typed in, quotation marks are now automatically converted into " " in the xml file, thereby avoiding the crash.

mp3 hotspot would loop even when 0 looping was selected. Fixed.
.... and a couple of handfuls of other issues have been fixed as well.

From now on, the documentation will be a separate download

Version 2.058 is out

Same as 2.057, except this time around the SA Projector works as it should. You find SA projector as the last button in the Plugins interface. One click, and your Stand Alone Projector is ready for being burned on a CD or DVD or put on Flash memory stick or distributed in other ways.
