Hi gyus,
recently we had a festival of 'light, music and ideas' in the town and as every year I made a little virtual tour from there. I'd appreciate your thoughts and comments so please if you read this DO leave some feedback here ;)

Cheers

This was great fun to watch, and the integration of the videos is very good. However I am wondering if the MCA pano also had a video in it... nothing shows on this end, and I have cleared the cache for a second check.

One minor thing I think you could improve on, is the show/hide graphics functions.... When the graphics have been hidden, and the HD tab has been brought out, next time the "show graphics" icon is clicked, it will bring forth the graphics, but also hide the HD graphics before calling it out again. You should be able to avoid the hiding part. In my opinion it would appear smoother if it didn't do this.

Excellent work Ondrej!

It was the first thing I thought of (using video in pano) when I saw the story on the news here. I too don't see a video on the MCA pano.

Nice job with the exposure, looks very natural (and clean). Is it difficult to create a video in pano effect? I am yet to try it and would like to give it a go.

Regards,

Morten

Ondrej,

I think it is excellent work and I want to do something like that, but with a waterfall I am going to shoot for Røros 360. It seems to me, though, that there must be a discrepancy between the size of the video and your tile sizes. How did you overcome that?

Hey guys and thanks a lot for your feedback! Sorry for late reply, this week has been crazy...

Trausti > MCA projection is not included in the VT due to the size restrictions. I can see the 'bug' with show/hide graphic. I should made HD button fully disappear rather then just hide HD movie option but I was too lazy to program another set of functions for that. I hope it will not affect many users. Thanks for pointing it out!

Thanks for your comment Morten! Creating video in pano is as difficult as dragging your video file in to FFC. Embedding video in such a way as it is here is a little more complex. Video file is overlaid by the layer taken from spherical photo. Then video is positioned preciselly in to spherical view so there is no seam between video and pano ... well you can actually see the seam because of difference between photo and video quality.

Jon, I am sure running waterfall would be a great addition to the virtual tour. Have you seen Terry's Rainbow falls in Mammoth Lakes virtual tour? Of course it is a challenge to find optimal quality/file size ratio. Internet connection speed here in Australia is well behind the western world so optimizing virtual tours is always very painful task. Nevertheless waterfall should be very easy as you need just a few second of footage to create desired effect. When you embedding final video have a play with layer blending in Hotspot2 tab as you might find better option than 'normal'. Let us know how did you go ;)

Thanks folks for your feedback !
