Uploading FCC project

Uploading FCC project

Postby harmattan1 » Tue Nov 29, 2011 9:42 am

Hi ... I'm working on a FCC project that includes 12 panoramas. When FCC projects are published, one '...index.html' file is created. When you move from one panorama to another, the url essentially stays the same. It doesn't, for instance, change to '...index.html/pano7'.

So my question is:

Is it possible to create hyperlinks on a separate web page (not created in FCC) that connect to different panoramas in the project - to take you to pano 4 or pano 10 for example, rather than the first one -?

I hope I've explained this well enough, and I apologise if this is really obvious, but I'm new to both FCC and creating custom web sites.

Any suggestions would be really helpful,

Thanks, NP

P.S. ... or, do you have to publish separate projects for each pano-? But then, I guess, they would not be linked by the hotspots.

Your question is completely reasonable.... but Flash itself has not been that reasonable over the years, so not until recently has this been a possibility... but not without making some radical changes. Short of the long: It is not possible with FPP/FFC (or other panorama software that I know of), it was on the to-do list, but due to time and implementation issues, we will have to do without this otherwise very useful feature.

You can absolutely make separate projects and link hotspots inside those to open each project individually... just link the hotspots with the URL linker, providing the online address for the project(s) in question.

Hi Trausti ... thanks very much. I will, in this case, make separate mini-projects and link them with the url linker.

Thanks again, NP

I think I know what U want to get, as I want it too, but still not have a time to test it. Ok, so try this:

U have 12 panoramas, so open your project, go to Tourificator and set pano_01 as initial - then save project as e.g. project_01 and flashificate (by this U will have folder project_01 in My_panoramas folder ... with standard index.html and project_01.xml in \files\xml\ folder)
then, change initial pano to pano_02 and do the same steps = SAVE AS project_02, flashificate....
then pano_03 .... till pano_12

Thus U will have 12 project folders in C:\Users\%username%\Documents\My Panoramas - project_01 .... project_02 .... project_12. Now, what is the difference between them? Only index.html and project_01.xml, project_02.xml... etc. SO now, just rename each of index.html to index01.html, index02.html etc (use the same number as the folder number). Finally, copy all folders to one (yes, overwrite - as everything in all project folders is the same besides index.html and project_xy.xml). NOw U should have one project folder with 12 index(xy).html files and 12 xml files in \files\xml\. Each index.html should open different panorama (as it opens different xml). Try this and let me know ;)

(after everything woks U can (if U want) delete FFC projects 02 ...12.ffc - U do not need them more)

Igor

Igor,

Bringing the outside-the-box thinking! :D Interesting solution... I'll have to give it a try when I get the time.

Hi Igor ... that's such a clever idea, and so simple. I will give it a try.
