Video Player hotspot and lens flare ?

Video Player hotspot and lens flare ?

Postby Boothy » Fri Mar 30, 2012 3:05 pm

Hi all

I am a newbie to this software so please be gentle - Is there a setting \method to make the lens flare also affect a hotspot? In my initial tests the video player hotspots using a flash video really stand out because they are not affected by the lens flare. I have the same result when published. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance

Keep an eye on the DEPTH assigned to the elements. Depth is assigned with selecting the element in question and then change the value with the Depth component in the "Hotspots" toolbox.

Please check the email I sent prior to seeing this post from you.... it should explain better.

Hi Trausti

I am still having problems with this - I have set flv player to 1-100 and lens flare to 800 but you can still see variation in hotspot (please see attached image)

Thanks again

Hi
I have sorted this by downloading the latest beta (v2.095) which looks different again - I just have a problem of scale with FLV movies from preview to publishing opening old projects in new version- the video looks undersized in preview but when I rescale it is oversized when published - I will try and reload movies

Unfortunately when I have tried a new project with the latest beta the video in the preview has changed back to the same as the image in the previous post. Also the video does not now show in published flash but does show in projector.

To Summarise

1.If I open the old test project in the latest beta I do not have the above problem but the video looks out of scale in preview although it publishes OK
2.If I produce a new project (same components) in latest beta the `lens flare\video`problem I have been experiencing still occurs.
3. When publishing in the latest beta I do not see FLV movies in tour although they work OK in a projected project.

Any help greatly appreciated

Adding the relevant folder in the global settings flash tab cured published video problem but still have the lens flare problem with videos

Thanks

It does seem to work if I reduce radiance of lens flare to zero - but it would be nice to have some `radiance` with flare

Could you upload your project file for testing? (providing the saved .ffc file, and not the published file)

I checked the file and all works as it should on my end (using the latest available version 2.095)

The video issue you are having (not showing up when published) is 100% guaranteed due to lack of permissions to play content on the drive you have the published tour. Make sure you assign full permissions for Flash to run content from the drive/folder where you publish your projects (right click a published panorama, select:

Global Settings
Advanced
Trusted Location Settings
Click the "Add" button and select the drive or folder you want to add to the list of trusted locations.

And a useful tip for a better result with the flying birds outside the window:

Create the video without the window frame in front of the birds, so that it will only contain the birds and the sky (no parts of the window itself, and that should be easy since you are using a computer generated model rather than a real location or real video)
Then make a snapshot of the section of the window where the video is supposed to be (make the snapshot from the cubeface where the window is)
Cut out all the window glass areas, leaving only the panes (dividers).
Save the image as a .png file, making sure that the glass areas are transparent.
In FFC, place the new video with the birds in the pano, on TOP of the window (the birds will be visible over the window panes).
Once you have placed the video correctly, you can drag and drop the .png file and place it OVER the video, and have the panes to match the underlying windows in the panorama. T his way you will have less of a problem to place the video file correctly, and have everything to match nicely.

... The .ffc file contains all the files you have in your project (images, thumbs, plugins etc)

Hi Trausti

1.I have now tried this on both my office and home machines with latest available version (2.095) and the hotspots are still plainly not affected by flare if radiance is applied.

2.Yes as per my previous post I have resolved publishing problems with setting permissions but thanks.

3. The birds were a crude test - I have since produced the flash video with an alpha channel so all the frame and surround is not visible within the FLV file - the sample is one of 3 colour palettes within tour and this way I can use the same movie without additional work to other tours. I will upload and send a link later in the week. I might use your PNG\hotspot overlay suggestion on other videos to reduce the number of different videos and therefore upload size.

Do not know what is going wrong with lens flare - I have uninstalled and reinstalled on both machines and it still oocurs when radiance is applied. Both are 64 bit windows 7 machines - I am not using any unusual overlays or video drivers\cards - all flash and air files are up to date - so do not know why.

Thanks again
